Description/Content: 6 hours of lecture, interaction among participants, coalition building/networking, powerpoint and exercises regarding the grant seeking process using United Way America model

Who Should Attend: Staff, board and volunteers of all organizations interested in learning more about grant seeking or refreshing grant seeking skills, especially those involved in education as well as social workers, counselors, nurses, social service providers and all others interested in fundraising and grant seeking.

Learning Outcomes:

• Trainee will recognize what a grant is.
• Trainee will understand the grant seeking process, a model for proposal development and tips for writing a fundable proposal.
• Trainee will learn the "3 Rs" of fundraising and grant seeking.
• Trainee will understand how to develop a winning proposal.
• Trainee will experience how to write goals, activities, inputs, outputs and outcomes.
• Trainee will understand ways to find funding and resources.
